Description
Photograph of a view of the corner of Seventh and Broadway looking west, showing Bullock's Department Store, Los Angeles, ca.1920. The seven-story department store stands at center, 7th Street and Broadway extending out to either side of it. Its fire escape is visible extending down its right side, while cloth canopies can be seen stretched out over the sidewalk from the first floor. An added section to the right that extends to ten stories features two signs that identify the department store, as well as an American flag. High rise buildings of similar height and architecture continue down 7th to the left, while shorter, tenement-style buildings continue down Broadway to the right. Automobiles, streetcars and pedestrians make their way along the sidewalks and streets below.
