Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of Los Angeles from West Ninth Street looking northwest from Figueroa Street, ca.1906. Ninth Street is visible in the left foreground lined to either side by utility poles. Residential blocks filled with houses comprise the entire background to the horizon. Two in particular are visible in the foreground to the right side of Ninth, one Victorian, the other sporting an arabesque or 'oriental' entranceway. A larger complex-building that appears to be built in the style of a French cottage is visible behind the trees to the right.
