Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Wilton & Cooper Dry Goods Company Building, January, 1927. An angled view of a tall stone building sits in the center with windows covering the building. Two fire escapes are visible on the right while one is visible on the left. The main entrance to the building is on the left side with the company name printed above the triangular entrance. The ground floor has large decorative windows with pillars and circular tops. The street in front of the building is lined with darkly colored cars. Two dirt piles are visible at the bottom center on the paved street.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
