Description
Photograph of solitary cabin on mountain trail, [s.d.]. At center in the background, a long cabin can be seen surrounded by tall trees. The rectangular cabin is composed mostly of wooden planks and other materials. Near the base of the building on the frontal face, a large door next to a small, rectangular window is visible. Above the door, three square, connected windows can be seen below the slanted roof. In front of the house, a large tree with a slight curve in its trunk is visible. In the extreme foreground, a large tree trunk is seen on both the left and right sides. These trunks frame the center image. Rocks and vegetation can also be seen.; Description on photo sleeve reads: "Big Santa Anita Canyon above Sierra Madre, Cabin at Opids". Description on photonegative reads: "1177 Cabin at Opid's".

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
