Description
Photograph of panoramic view of La Canada, [s.d.]. In the foreground at the bottom of the image, clusters of trees surrounding small fields can be seen extending from the far left to the right. Two large houses are also visible among the vegetation. At the center of the image, a large open field lined with small, circular shrubs can be seen. To the left of the field, a large curving road is visible moving to the upper-left portion of the image. To the right of the field, another large house can be seen surrounded by various types of vegetation. In the background at right, several parallel roads running to the right are visible. Along the roads, lines of small buildings can be seen. To the far left, a large hill with a winding road is visible. In the extreme background, a large mountain can be seen ascending to the right, framed by a cloudy sky. Photoprint reports: "Copied April 1930".

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
