Description

Photograph of an airplane flying over Los Angeles, showing City Hall in the background, [s.d.]. The small, single-engine monoplane can be seen at center. It has a piston engine and a small cockpit and is headed towards the foreground at left. "NX18928" appears on the tail and on the wing at left. Below the plane, several large buildings, including City Hall, are visible. The rest of the image is occupied by the sprawling city of Los Angeles. The airplane is a North American Navion.

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
