Description
Photograph of a General Petroleum Company oil field, possibly the Fullerton Oil Field, in La Brea Canyon, Orange County, California, ca.1910-1930. Numerous oil derricks dot the hilly landscape devoid of all trees. Holding tanks and small utilitarian structures huddle around the base of the wells. An unpaved road is visible in the left foreground as is a utility pole.
