Description
Photograph of a view down California Street, showing earthquake damage, San Francisco, 1906. People in suits, hats and dress walk down the center of the street which runs from the left foreground to the center distance. Bricks from the fallen building on the right spill over the sidewalk around the electrical poles which line the street. The destruction continues along the right side where a cloud of smoke and dust sits over the area. A large building with a dark tower still stands on the left while two even larger buildings appear to be in tact further down the street in the background. The smoke appears to be thick and lower to the ground in the background.
