Description
Photograph of the grave of Father Saint John O'Sullivan in the Cemetery of San Juan Capistrano, ca.1930. Father O'Sullivan arrived at Mission in 1910 and died at the mission at the age of 59. The monument consists of a three-tiered stone pedestal terminating in a column topped by a cross, in front of which a long stone slab is tilted at about a 15-degree angle. The monument is surrounded by the flowers and trimmed hedges of a garden, and in the background domed buildings and telephone poles can be seen.
