Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Wilshire Methodist Episcopal Church shown from the corner, 1900-1930. At center, a small marquee advertises a Wilshire Men's Club meeting on Friday the 23rd of June, as well as talks by Mrs. Nellie Gothholt, Dr. Haywood and Dr. Isett. Behind it, a small stand of what appear to be of trees obscures the corner of the church. An entrance can be seen both to the left and right, the leftmost entrance framed by columns. A dirt road is visible in the foreground.

Title
Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
