Description
Photograph of a drawing of the Mission San Antonio de Padua by Edward Borein, ca.1900. The heavily cross-hatched drawing shows two horsemen in the center foreground, in front of the tall, adobe mission which features a two-tiered roof and a long portico extending from the main building to the left. A small cross is affixed to the first tier of the roof, a much taller one, about five times the size, is attached to the second tier. Two riders have dismounted lean underneath a tree next to their horses to the right. While more horsemen and other pedestrians stand along the outside wall of the mission in the background. A tree casts a shadow from outside the frame that falls in the foreground in front of the first two horsemen.
