Description
Photograph of the drawing "The Last Supper" by Brunozetti, [s.d.]. Christ is seated at the center of a long table, his hands outstretched in front of him, three windows in the wall behind him. His twelve apostles are seated to either side of him. A crumpled robe lays on a stool in front of the table, next to a wine jug. The floor beneath them is tiled.; The image is remarkably similar to DaVinci's "Last Supper"; The three windows in the background are similar, which give Christ his "natural" halo made out of the light from outside and the apostles are posed in more or less the same position as in DaVinci's fresco. An elderly apostle pictured in the right background is not pictured in the DaVinci, although many of the other apostle's gestures are identical to the DaVinci painting.; Nothing definitive is known about either the artist Brunozetti or this painting of The Last Supper. It is possible Brunozetti was an engraver in the late 18th or 19th century. Many 20th-century lithographs of this painting are known to exist and are offered for sale on various web sites.
