Photographic portrait of a horse and a dog in front of a mountain log cabin, ca.1930. To the left of the center, a horse is observable tied up to a wooden pole; it seems to be equipped with a small cargo on its back. A person is partially visible immediately to its right. Below the center, in the foreground, a small dog can be seen with a wooden stick in its mouth facing the viewer. A log cabin is viewable in the background and trees fill in the backdrop.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
