Description
Photograph of the Hamburg-American motorship Los Angeles docked at Los Angeles harbor, [s.d.]. The stern of the large vessel can be seen in the foreground at left and a dock runs parallel to the ship at right. Several cranes, masts and smokestacks can be seen on the deck of the Los Angeles, and men can be seen unloading boxes in the distance at right. A number of small flags can be seen on a rope running from the top of a mast to the deck at left, while a larger flag hangs from a pole on the stern.

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
