Description
Photograph of a Southern Pacific train on a Wilmington dock, ca.1880. The train tracks are laid on a wooden wharf. The steam locomotive is pulling a coal car and a single flatbed car along the tracks toward the bottom left corner. There is another flatbed car on the right side, stacked high with lumber. In the center of the picture, parts of a ship can be seen, including its two tall masts, although the wharf obscures the hull from view.
