Description
Photograph of an aerial view of the Mission San Carlos de Carmelo, ca.1932. The mission grounds are pictured in the center foreground, surrounded by a post-and-rail fence. The two-story church stands to the right, its spire to the left of the main entrance. Cloisters can be seen to the far left, and several barn-like structures can also be seen in front of the church. Several horses are riding by along a dirt road that skirts a crumbled adobe wall at the front of the property. An inlet from the ocean is visible along with a small peninsula in the background.
