Description

Photograph of flood damage to Warner Brothers Studio, 1938. Rocks and concrete pieces lie in the mud in the foreground while water rushes under the bridge at center. Fallen trees have collected against the supports below the bridge. Flood damage to the far bank has detached the bridge from the land. The lightly-colored buildings of Warner Brothers Studios dangle on the edge while automobiles sit parked next to them at left. Mountains stand in the distance.

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
