Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Exchange Building in the community of Wilmington before the arrival of the railroad, Los Angeles, 1863. A stage coach is parked in front of the two-story depot house at center, with people gathering on the front porch. Farther right, a man tends to a horse-drawn cart, next to which a dog stands by a picket fence. A second building is annexed on to the main two-story building, running perpendicular to it. Other buildings are visible in an open field in the background.
