Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Mission San Luis Rey de Francia from the rear, showing cemetery, ca.1880. The church of the mission is shown to the left of center, a large, two-story adobe with an attached bell tower farther left, next to which the cemetery is visible surrounded by a brick wall. A cross gravestone peeks over the top. Farther in the foreground, the remains of a decimated adobe wall ridge the ground. In the background, farther right, the archways of the cloisters can be seen. Hills are visible in the distance.
