Photograph of oranges in crates being loaded onto a ship, showing a man driving a tractor, ca.1930. The man drives the tractor at center to transport two pallets of packed oranges behind him. Several men observe from behind him. A railroad car stands behind him on the right while a pallet of oranges is lowered by the surrounding poles and wires on the left. The upper levels of the ship stand behind the site on the left.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
