Description
Photograph of an exterior of the Los Angeles and San Diego Counties exhibit at the World Fair in San Francisco, 1930. A tall concrete building is visible at center with windows extending up the entire length of it. No windows are visible on the portion of the building to the right, but flags are visible flying from the roof. Three signs are visible on the building reading, "Los Angeles and San Diego Counties", while other signs reading, "San Diego" and "Los Angeles" alternate above four entryways. Multiple men, women, and a few children can be seen walking in front of the building. Trees and a second building are visible in the left background.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
