Description
Photograph of the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, 1930. The twelve-story hotel is visible at center at angle with 3 sub sections. Tall, arched windows, columns, and a canopy are visible at street level, while rectangular windows are visible throughout the rest of the building. A grass park with trees and walkways is visible in the right foreground in front of the hotel. People can be seen sitting on benches in the park while cars line the street at left and in front of the hotel. Other buildings are partially visible in the right background.

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
