Photograph of an aerial drawing of proposed improvements at the Port of Los Angeles, ca.1920. The water can be seen in the entire bottom right corner, while water can be seen flowing into the land at center. What appears to be farmland and fields can be seen at left, while roads are visible in a grid-like pattern at center, at right, and into the background. Mountains are depicted in the distance. The view is toward the north showing the completed fish harbor. A signature is visible at right.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
