Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Jose Lopez Adobe in Old Town, San Diego, ca.1934. A dirt road curves towards the adobe at center from the foreground. A damaged fence stands in front of the adobe while two signs stand just in front of it. Various trees decorate the perimeter of the adobe.; Photoprint reads: "This huge adobe was built by Jose Lopez, a political exile from Sinaloa in the later days of Mexican rule in alta California and until recently remained in the family of his descendants. The daughter of Jose Lopez II and his wife Eduviges Arie, Benigna Lopez, married Jose Antonio Yorba III (born in 1812 in Alto California), the great grandfather of Alfonso Yorba and hacendado of Rancho Valle de la Palinas in Baja California where D. Jose Anto and his wife lived from 1862 on", -- by Alfonso Yorba, [s.d.].
