Description
Photograph of the exterior of the Sheperd residence in San Diego, ca.1905. The gingerbread-veneered home can be seen behind thick foliage and a dilapidated wall that stands in the foreground along an unpaved road. To the left, the house boasts a central tower topped by a minnaret and extending above what appears to be the main entrance. A second tower-like structure can be seen both to the far right of the home, and above another entrance to the left, in a smaller version. Weathervains are attached to the top of each minnaret, while a two-stacked brick chimney can be seen at the peak of the central roof, which is decorated with small gargoyles/dragons.
