Description
Photograph of a view of Fifth Street in San Diego showing a double-decker streetcar, ca.1905. In the right foreground, a woman is shown climbing into the streetcar, which features signs that proclaim both "San Diego County Fair. Mar.13th to 16th" and "Upper 5th Street. H Street. Logan Avenue & National Avenue". Directly in the right background, a four-story concrete building is visible, constructed in a modern style of architecture. A smaller, three-story building of similar design is visible farther back, directly adjacent to it. Farther down the street to the left, a horse-drawn carriage can be seen, behind which other commercial buildings that do not seem older than the first two are visible. A sign on one reads "Phillips Building. Furnished Rooms". Picture file card reads "Puck (?)".
