Description
Photograph of the exterior view of the Los Angeles Cable Railway Company building, northwest corner of 4th Street and Olive Street, ca.1889. "This building was the first car barn of Los Angeles." About a dozen men are standing around in front of the building. A man holds the reigns attached to two horses that are standing under the large doorway to the building. Another man sits in what appears to be an early version of the cable cars when horses were used to pull them.
