Description
Photograph of Monterey Avenue looking north, showing the Capitola Hotel, Capitola, Santa Cruz County, ca.1900. A sandy yard spotted with weeds lies in the foreground with the dirt road extending into the background at center behind it. Short, thin palm trees line the road with small, potted plants lined up behind them on the sidewalk. A tall, lightly-colored, wooden building of the Capitola Hotel stands on the right with many windows in the front wall while a man stands on the sidewalk on the left with a short, lightly-colored, wooden building just behind him, further down the road. A horse-drawn cart can be seen down the road in the distance heading towards a line of taller trees.
