Description
Photograph of an interior view of the trading floor of the Los Angeles Stock Exchange empty of people, [s.d.]. Benches can be seen at center back-to-back, while two desks can be seen at left and two at right. Smaller desks line the wall, while what appears to be a balcony extends around the walls. Clocks can be seen on the wall at left and at right, while a pattern is visible on the ceiling. In size - 6,580 square feet - it is second only to the New York Exchange.

Description
The nearly 15,000 unique photographs of this collection contain the work of C.C. Pierce which cover the Los Angeles region city, street and architectural views, California Missions, Southwestern Native Americans, and turn-of-century Nevada, Arizona, and California. Pierce, active from 1886 to 1940, was one of the leading photographers of his day and amassed a collection of 15,000 images, including his own and those bought and copied from his contemporaries, George Wharton James and Charles Puck. The James collection contains over 2,000 images of portraits, customs, ceremonies, arts, and games of various groups of Southwestern Native Americans.
