Description
Photograph of a drawing by Vischer depicting the ruins of the presidio of San Diego outside of old San Diego at the entrance to Mission Valley, 1874. There are two very tall intertwined palm trees on a mound at the center of the picture. At the base of this mound, there is a mounted man wearing a hat, and behind him, on a hill, there are two buildings, one of which resembles an adobe house. There are mountains visible at the right side of the image and in the background, and in the upper left corner, the sun is pushing through the cloud cover.
