Description
Photograph of an exterior view of a small house on the east end of Marchessault Street, Chinatown, November 1933. The small wooden house can be seen at center. A covered porch supported by wooden beams can be seen on the front of the building, while barred rectangular windows can be seen along the walls. To the right of the building, a large utility pole is visible. A two-story brick building can be seen in the foreground at left, while another tall brick building is visible in the background at right. A wide dirt road runs from the foreground at left into the background at right.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
