Description
Photograph of the Los Angeles County Jail, Buena Vista Street and Temple Street, circa 1920. Several pedestrians are visible on the sidewalk adjacent to the 3-story stone structure. An automobile is parked at the left side near a lawn with a large fir tree. The photograph appears to be taken from the lawn of the County Court House, across Temple Street. The lawn is elevated above the north side of the street. The edge of what looks like a rooftop is actually the border, or top of the short retaining wall next to the sidewalk.
