Description
Photograph of small wooden suspension bridge over construction area, [s.d.]. In the foreground at center, a pipe and several wooden beams sit beside a large pool of water in a wide, muddy trench. In the background at center, several man can be seen standing beside a truck and additional equipment in the trench. Above the construction area at center, a small wooden bridge can be seen connecting the two sides of the ravine. Two sets of triangular beams have been constructed above the bridge to support its center. Near the center of the bridge, another man can be seen standing. To the far left, an automobile is visible. To the far right, large rows of utility poles extend into the extreme background. Small homes and structures are also visible.

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
