Description
Photograph of an exterior view of Royce Hall at the University of California Los Angeles, ca.1950-1960. The large brick building is at center. It has an entryway defined by six large archways. The entrance is flanked by two massive rectangular towers. The building is three stories high and arched windows look out on a grassy area in front. The grassy area is packed with an assortment of students walking and socializing. Several tall trees are visible. Accession# 33247 is a vertical view of the same image.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
