Description
Photograph of the flooded Los Angeles River at the Dayton Avenue bridge, 1938. The small bridge is shown at center, extending across the river from left to right. In the foreground, a riveted structure that appears to be a sluice or service bridge extends from the left foreground to the right bank of the river. Below, the waters of the river rush past. The hills and residential areas of the city can be seen in the background. Photoprint reads: "This photograph is loaned to you. Please return to: Illustrator. L.A. City Planning Dept. Rm.361 F City Hall, Los Angeles, California".
