Description
Photograph of a view of Second Street to the west of Central Avenue looking east, Los Angeles, ca.1900. The arm of a lowering road block stands raised to the right alongside the sidewalk, which is lined with utility poles. In the distance, a horse-drawn carriage and pedestrians can be seen. The Pattern and Staves Lumber and Fuel Co. Building is evident just in from the brickyard enclosed by picket fence in the right foreground. A streetcar track runs through the center of the unpaved street.
