Description
Photograph of a view of Western Avenue looking north from Tenth Street, 1924. Automobiles make their way up and down the wide, paved road in the center of the image. In the right foreground, a junk truck hauls what appears to be a small furnace. A bus is parked to the left, just past the intersection, with cars turning by it. The two-story Burton & Co. Realtors building can be seen standing back from the sidewalk at right, one of a line of adjacent commercial buildings. A man on a motorcycle can be seen directly in the center of the road in the far distance, his companion visible in the sidecar. Trees shroud what appears to be a park at left. Utility poles line the sidewalks. Mountains can also be seen in the far distance. Legible signs include: "Luncheon. Soda", and "Bus Stop. No parking between here and the next corner".
