Description
Photograph of railroad workers on Van Nuys Boulevard near Sylvan Street in Van Nuys, October, 1911. A group of railroad workers is huddled around a flatbed railroad car in the foreground at left. A larger group of onlookers is gathered at center. There are men and women, as well as boys and girls, in the group of bystanders. A line of utility poles runs parallel to the railroad tracks at center, and Van Nuys Boulevard is visible at right. A long, light-colored building is behind the crowd, and the California Bank Building is on the corner of Van Nuys Boulevard and Sylvan Street.
