Description
Photograph of large Chinese dragon extending its body over a series of tables during the Chinese New Year celebration, Chinatown, 1920-1929. In the foreground at center, a series of four tables can be seen with one of the tables stacked on two others. Wooden chairs have been placed on the surfaces of at least two of the tables. Two men stand to the left of the tables, while another three stand below the highest table. On top of the tables, two men can be seen supporting a decorative Chinese dragon costume. The man sitting on the surface of the highest table holds up the head of the costume, while another man sitting to the far left supports the tail. The long body is composed of decorative cloth and fabric. In the extreme background, a large crowd of people watch the celebration. Flags are visible to the far left.
