Description

Photograph of flooded intersection of Slauson and 3rd Avenue, [s.d.]. In the extreme foreground at center, a wide road can be seen extending into the extreme background. The road is covered by a layer of water. Small waves are visible near the center of the road as cars plow through the water. In the background at center, several more automobiles are visible. To the right of the road, a large line of utility poles can be seen extending into the extreme background. Large billboards and signs can also be seen to the right. To the far left, a row of small buildings can be seen.

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
