Description
Photograph firefighters tending their water pumps during a fire at Third Street and Broadway, ca.1913. The tops of two of the water-pump carts can be seen in the foreground, the left one attended by a fireman and billowing steam. Two more stand in the background, separated by a tangle of fire hose on the street. Firemen to the right use the hoses to douse the fire burning in the high rise at the background. Legible signs include: "State Shop" and "Siegel's Women's and Children's Wear".
