Description
Photograph of a view of Twelfth Street and Hill Street looking southwest from the house of O.W. Childs, Los Angeles, ca.1875. A dirt road cuts horizontally through the center of the frame, a dry yard with trees and a curving dirt path enclosed to the bottom right by a post-and-rail fence, a second yard partially visible to the lower left enclosed by a picket fence. Across the road, crop rows are visible to the left of a collection of small cottage-style houses, in front of which is a long tract of cleared land.
