Photograph of travel maps showing vacation fun in Southern California displayed in the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce exhibit room, ca.1935. Three posters can be seen propped up at center. The poster at left reads, "Every kind of Vacation Fun in Southern California" and features six photos of palm trees, people in the ocean, and couples dancing. A poster at center shows a map of southern California and reads, "All Year Club of Southern California. Fun Map of Southern California". The poster at right features two photos: a man and woman, and a family on the beach. The poster reads, "Cool Nights All Summer. Clear Rainless Days. Southern California". Smaller pamphlets are visible in front of the posters. The card at left reads, "You'll be surprised how little this vacation costs [...]", while a small sign at center reads, "Southern California in a 2-weeks vacation. Thousands of Easterners made this 2-weeks trip last year!".

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
