Description
Photograph of the painting "Fairy Tales" by Harcourt, depicting two children reading a storybook, [s.d.]. Two young girls are pictured by a bay window in what appears to be either their bedroom or a sitting room. Darkness fills much of the room, with soft light emanating from an unknown source just behind the eldest girl, possibly a candle. The eldest girl sits in a wooden chair to the left, and appears to be reading aloud from the book open in her lap. The second girl sits on the window ledge and looks directy at the viewer, her foot resting on a stack of books and papers that sits on the chair in front of her. Through the window, a lining of ivy and the silhouettes of other homes are visible.
