Description
Photograph of the painting "Queen Louise" by Lebrun, depicting a young girl in fancy dress, [s.d.]. The girl is pictured in an oval frame, her body turned in profile while her head faces the viewer. Her hair is dark and curly and is bound up above her brow by a tiara from which diaphanous cloth drapes in back. The short sleeves of her dress appear to be made from the same translucent material, with a filigree pattern at the hem. She wears a string of pearls around her neck. Picture file card lists the artist as "Elizabeth Labrun", while the signature on the portrait reads "Vigie -- le Brun". Painted 1802.
