Description
Photograph of the painting "Love's Offering" by Roessler, depicting a young man courting a woman, [s.d.]. The man, a young androgyne, is pictured at left, kneeling in front of the young woman on the bench to the right. The young man is dressed in a loincloth and offers the woman a garland made from flowers. She, nude from the waist up, inclines her gaze down and away from his upward-looking stare. What appears to be a formal French or English garden filled with poplar trees fills the background. There is confusion as to whether the artist's first name is Reed or "Rud".
