Description
Photograph of "Mary and Child and Two Saints", a painting by Palma Vecchio depicting two women and a man surrounding a naked infant, [s.d.]. All three can be seen in a close shot from the waist up. To the left, the first woman is dressed with a kerchief around her head. She holds the naked baby boy a small distance out from her body, her fingers on a scroll of writing that the man, who is pictured at the extreme right, also takes hold of. In the center, the second woman looks down at the scroll while the other two lock eyes. In the background, a cherub or a sculpture of a cherub is visible above the second woman's head, while a cross can be seen just behind the man. What appears to be a shoreline is also visible in the background.
