Photograph of an aerial view of Chinatown, November 1933. A street can be seen running from the bottom right towards the background. Two slightly curved and parallel roads can be seen to the left of the first road. Automobiles can be seen parked along the side of some of the roads, while buildings are visible throughout. Hills can be seen in the background. Photoprint reads, "Four Family Assoc., Napier Sr.".

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
