Description
Photograph of an interior view of the Los Angeles (later Pacific Coast) Stock Exchange on Spring Street in Los Angeles, [s.d.]. There are four large wooden desks in the corners of the room and many people are standing behind them dealing with paperwork. In the center of the room, a large group of people is standing around talking. On a catwalk on the left side of the room, four men keep track of stock prices on a large chalkboard. A leather couch can be seen in the foreground at left. The Exchange is between 6th Street and 7th Street.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
