Photograph of an aerial view of Port of Los Angeles Warehouse No. 1, ca. 1935. At left, in the foreground and in the middle, two ships can be seen docked at the left side of the pier. A long, one-story warehouse can be seen extending towards the background. At center, a group of buildings extends from the foreground towards the background. The building in the foreground has two signs that read "Port of Los Angeles" and "Warehouse No. 1". At center, at righ, a number of boats is visible docked at the right side of the pier. In the extreme background, in the middle, a ship can be seen going through the harbor.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
